Course Description
This interdisciplinary Special Topics seminar shows students how to study and compare political phenomena through different epistemic and disciplinary approaches using film and literature as the primary mode of inquiry. Colonialism, independence movements, authoritarianism, migration, development, regime change, and peace and conflict studies will be among the topics covered. Regional emphasis will be placed on Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe.
