PUBLIC HEALTH PRACTICE: LEADERSHIP AND PERSONAL MASTERY
Course Description
Spring semesters. This in-person/hybrid intensive course allows students to reflect on the complexities of leadership in Public Health as well as the overall needs of effective leadership in a constantly changing social environment. Students will explore the theories and principles of leadership and leadership styles and practices, the public health system, and the five levels of public health leadership. Students will examine the core functions model and its application to public health leadership and explore the leadership tools needed for the 21st-century. We will consider how to evaluate leadership and leadership programs and consider emerging public health trends.
