AMERICAN LITERATURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Course Description
This survey of twentieth-century American environmental literature covers the fundamentals of reading poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, the criterion by which a text is included or excluded from the genre of "environmental literature," and an introduction to ecocritical theory and criticism. The class explores how literature addresses environmental issues, especially the representation of nature and wilderness.Cross-listed LITT 2154. Not open to those with credit for GAH 2259.
