Course Description
This course provides an introduction to production design, and students will learn and practice the fundamentals of how to organize, manage, and create design. An introduction within the disciplines of costume, scenery, lighting, projection, and sound will be explored. Through creative projects, lectures, guest speakers, hands-on experiences, and industry visits, students will gain further understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of theatrical design. The skills student gather in this course inform professional pathways beyond the arts, instilling a foundation for collaboration, creative brainstorming, engaging the visual imagination, organization, and project management.
