English as a Second Lanuage (ESL)

Students who successfully complete the required courses and pass the Oral Proficiency Interview/OPI and written English language proficiency test (a total of 2 tests) will qualify for an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement on a valid New Jersey instructional certificate.

By successfully completing the ESL endorsement, students may also apply for a Bilingual/Bicultural instructional certificate, but must first pass an oral and ritten proficiency test in another(target) language—a total of 2 additional tests.
