Program Description

The Minor in Computer Information Systems is appropriate for students of all majors who wish to gain knowledge and skills in the design & development, use, and management of computer & information technology solutions present in our daily life and work environment. For example, a student interested in business could minor in computer information systems to work in the area of data analytics. Or a student interested in criminal justice could minor in computer information systems to work in the area of cybersecurity.

The minor in CIS requires 5 CIST courses (20 credits), consisting of 3 required courses and 2 electives. Only courses with the CIST course acronym count toward the minor in CIS.

Note that an overall GPA of 2.0 or better in the CIS minor courses is required to earn the minor designation.
