Course Description

This senior seminar explores depression from multiple perspectives, including psychological theories, biological mechanisms, and sociocultural influences. Topics will include prevalence, assessment and diagnostic criteria, risk factors, treatment approaches (e.g., psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and alternative therapies), cultural considerations, and public health implications. Students will engage in discussions, review empirical research, and use case studies to develop an understanding of depression as a complex psychological disorder.
