Course Description

This course will introduce students to the use of Adobe Photoshop and the contemporary concepts of manipulated and manufactured photo-based images. The emphasis will be on the use of Photoshop as a digital imaging tool in the context of photographic images and the production of high quality inkjet prints. Topics include: color calibration, image resolution, Camera RAW processing, working with selections, using layers, channels, and masks, file formats, compositing images, video editing, and printing. Students must be familiar with the use of a computer and have access to a digital SLR camera with manual control of focus and exposure.
