Course Description
The first of a two-year, four-course sequence in general and organic chemistry, this course serves as an introduction to chemistry for students in the physical and biological sciences. It is a prerequisite for all subsequent courses in organic, inorganic, and environmental chemistry and is required for most of the science and health disciplines. Introductory chemistry: composition and structure of matter; energy changes; stoichiometry; periodic trends; chemical equilibrium; solutions; gas laws; and acids and bases.
