Course Description
(Cross-listed LITT 2127.) A study of Greek and Roman novels, a frequently neglected but very interesting and once very popular literary genre of later antiquity. Examination of the five Hellenistic novels, which are considered the core of the genre, as well as the two most important Roman novels, Petronius' Satyricon and Apuleius' Golden Ass.
