Course Description

This course examines global health care systems with a focus on trends, issues, and policies related to the U.S. health care system. It explores the policy-making process, including the roles of community, industry, and government stakeholders. Gaps in health care financing and the impact on health care delivery will be discussed. Politics and policies affecting health care delivery will be addressed. There will be an emphasis on health care policy and advocacy roles that promote social justice, and health equity. Additionally, strategies will be explored to reduce health disparities and promote quality initiatives in nursing practice.
