Program Description

Introduction

Digital Studies (DIGI) aims to prepare budding digital generalists with a well-rounded education to excel in all aspects of designing and utilizing emerging digital technologies to meet global demands.

Digital media/technology serves as the backbone of the multidimensional, media-saturated, and fast-paced world we live in. How we study, work, communicate and collaborate are all influenced by it. With this technology comes the need to develop new digital media content like apps, online games, and social networking sites.

In addition, this new digital content not only integrates all aspects of digital media, but also requires critical thinking, as well as communication and collaboration skills. The DIGI program provides a practitioner-based curriculum by focusing on multiple synchronized courses.

The DIGI program goals are to:

  1. Prepare students to excel in the field of digital studies and work in many areas, such as web and media development.

  2. Provide students with critical/creative thinking and collaborative skills needed to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

  3. Equip students to solve real-world problems through digital technologies.

  4. Enable students to thrive in a fast-changing, diverse, global, digital environment.

Program Organization

DIGI Program at Stockton University offers a B.A in Digital Studies. A minor in Digital Studies is also available. The DIGI courses are listed on the curriculum worksheets found on subsequent pages.
