Graduate Studies Handbook
The Graduate Studies Handbook is designed to provide general baseline information about graduate education policies and procedures at Stockton University that apply to all graduate students and programs. Graduate faculty and students are expected to be familiar with the practices and processes established by the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies (OGCS), as well as those specific to their individual degree programs offered through their respective schools.
Graduate students should read this handbook, along with the handbook provided by their graduate program, early in their studies and refer to them often. These resources contain answers to many frequently asked questions. If you are unable to find the information you need, please contact the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies or your Program Chair for assistance.
The procedures outlined in this handbook have been developed by the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies in consultation with the Graduate Studies Advisory Council and are intended to supplement university-wide policies and procedures described in the Stockton University Bulletin.
In cases where program specific accreditation standards or external regulatory requirements impose additional or conflicting expectations, those requirements shall supersede the processes and procedures established by OGCS and/or outlined in this handbook (e.g. including but not limited to CEPH, CSWE, CCNE, APA, CAA, ACOTE, CAPTE and CAAHEP).
Information contained in this handbook is subject to change without notice. It is the responsibility of the graduate studies community to remain informed about all applicable policies and procedures, including those outlined in this handbook, program specific materials, accreditation requirements, and guidance provided in the University Bulletin.
